How do smart locks work?

Smart and electronic locks grant access using credentials such as a smartphone, PIN code, contactless card or fob, and can log or restrict who enters and when — useful for offices, lettings and shared buildings.

What is a SALTO access control system?

SALTO uses programmable smartcards and reading devices, so permissions are updated on the card or the lock without rewiring. Encoders and programming devices set up and manage the credentials.

Do smart locks still have a key?

Many electronic locks and smart cylinders keep a mechanical key override, so the door can still be opened if batteries or credentials fail.
