Toggle switch buying guide

What is a toggle switch?

A toggle switch uses a small lever you flick up or down, giving a tactile, traditional action popular in both heritage and industrial-style interiors.

What does the gang number mean?

The gang is the number of toggles on one plate — a 2-gang switch operates two separate lights or circuits from one faceplate.

1-way or 2-way?

Choose 2-way if you need to control one light from two places, such as either end of a hallway; 1-way suits a single control point.

How are they fitted?

Toggle plates mount to standard UK back boxes. Check the gang count and box depth before ordering to ensure a clean fit.

All electrical installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). Free UK delivery on orders over £100.
