What is a fused spur?

A fused spur is a connection unit with its own cartridge fuse that supplies a fixed appliance, such as a boiler, heater or extractor, directly from a circuit.

Switched or unswitched?

A switched spur lets you isolate the appliance locally, while an unswitched spur provides a permanent connection with no on/off control.

What is a neon indicator or flex outlet for?

A neon shows at a glance when the spur is live, and a flex outlet lets a cable pass neatly through the front plate to the appliance.

What fuse rating do they take?

Most fused spurs accept a standard cartridge fuse (commonly up to 13A); the correct rating depends on the appliance and should be confirmed by an electrician.
