Tubular Latches

A tubular latch is the sprung latch fitted inside an internal door, allowing a lever handle or knob to hold the door closed. Choose from standard, heavy-duty double-sprung and fire-rated tubular latches, plus replacement tongue strikes. Pair them with lever latch handles or door knobs.

Tubular Latch Buying Guide

What size tubular latch do I need?

Tubular latches are commonly available in 64mm (2.5 inch) and 76mm (3 inch) sizes. A 76mm latch is commonly used with door knobs, while 64mm latches are often suitable for lever handles. Always check your existing door preparation before ordering.

What is the backset?

The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the spindle hole. A 64mm latch typically provides around a 44mm backset, while a 76mm latch provides around 57mm.

Do I need a fire-rated tubular latch?

For fire doors, choose a fire-rated tubular latch that has been tested and approved for the required application. Check the product specifications and fire-door requirements before fitting.
