How does a surface bolt work?

The bolt body screws onto the face of the door and slides into a keep on the frame, head or floor — quick to fit without cutting into the door edge.

What length should I choose?

Surface bolts come in a range of lengths, from around 100mm up to extended 355mm. Longer bolts give greater reach and hold for tall or heavier doors.
