Do stair rods hold the carpet down?

Traditional stair rods are largely decorative and sit over a runner that is already fixed with grippers or underlay. Some brackets grip firmly, but rods are not usually the sole fixing.

What length of stair rod do I need?

Measure the width of your runner and add allowance for the brackets at each end. Rods around 725mm suit many standard runners, and some designs can be cut to size.

Which finish should I choose?
