How does a dimmer work?

A dimmer varies the power sent to a light, letting you set the brightness to suit the mood or task in a room.

Will a dimmer work with LED bulbs?

Use dimmers with bulbs marked 'dimmable' and check the load range matches your fittings, as not every LED is compatible with every dimmer.

What does the gang number mean?

The gang is the number of dimmers on one plate — a 3-gang controls three separate lighting circuits from one faceplate.

Rotary or push?

Rotary knob dimmers turn to adjust brightness and are a popular traditional choice; pick a finish that matches your other switches.
