Are brass door handles good?

Why did they stop using brass door knobs?

They never really stopped — brass fell out of fashion rather than out of use. What has changed since is the finish: today's aged, satin and brushed brasses are much softer than the bright lacquered brass of the eighties, and brass is now one of the fastest-growing finishes in UK interiors again.
